Nightlife in Prague
Compared to the night life in Europe’s other major cities, the club scene in Prague can feel a bit outdated. Even at Karlovy Lazne- the club whose six stories make it the biggest club in Europe- you’ll hear songs like “Ice Ice Baby” mixed in with the DJ’s Top 40 set. And though the music may be cheesey, the staff is friendly and most of them speak English, and with six dance floors you’re bound to find something to suit your taste. However, you’ll soon find that the majority of the club’s patrons are other tourists and expatriates.
Theatre in Prague
Walking through Prague, it can often feel as though there’s a theatre on every other block, particularly in the Old Town where people assail you with fliers for a variety of black light performances. With so many options, it can be difficult to choose which ones to visit. Of the black light theatres, Ta Fantastika and Image stand out with their original productions. Both use black box tricks along with creative direction, puppets, and wide screen projections, as well as live actors, singers, and dancers to create the surreal effects of black light theatre.
Christmas and New Year's Eve in Prague
As with most capitalist market-driven societies, Christmas in Prague has become more and more commercialized in recent years. Some stores start putting up holiday decorations as early as October, though it is considered better taste to wait until November. During the months leading up to Christmas you can expect the same crowded shopping malls as in any other city. Prague is more unique in its outdoor Christmas markets which set up in Wenceslas and Old Town Squares for the holiday season.

Czech Cuisine
A great way to get the taste of any culture is, of course, through their cuisine. Czech cuisine is traditionally meat, meat and more meat. Pork, dumplings (potato or bread) and cabbage are the staple (vepro, knedlo, zelo). Mushrooms are a favorite, as every year mushroom picking is an important family event. Rabbit is a delicatessen and many have rabbit farms. Potato is also a big part of the meal and cooked in many varieties. The food is generally quite heavy and slow to digest, so take it in stride, but a good Czech beer will help.

With landscaped and formal gardens, waterfalls, ponds and a large rose garden you are surrounded by beauty at all times.
